The Provincial Health Officer has issued an order effective today, August 25, that requires masks in all public indoor settings for all people born in 2009 or earlier (12+). To comply with this order, masks are required to be worn to enter all Peace River Regional District facilities, as they are public spaces.
There are exemptions for:
- People with health conditions or with physical, cognitive or mental impairments who cannot wear one
- People who cannot remove a mask on their own
- Children under the age of 12
- People who need to remove their masks to communicate due to another person’s hearing impairment
