BC Wildfire Services now has the fire reported as under control, meaning a wildfire that is not projected to spread beyond the current perimeter, at 267 hectares.

Update, 05/01/2025 at 1610 hours (4:10 p.m.)
The BC Wildfire Service continues to respond to a cluster of wildfires approximately 30 kilometres southwest of Dawson Creek. Warm, dry and windy conditions have led to increased fire activity on wildfire G70192, which has merged with G70195. The fire is currently estimated at 35 hectares.
Ground crews are actively working to contain the fire, with support from helicopters. Southwest winds are pushing the fire toward Highway 52 North, and there is potential for impacts to the roadway. For the most current information on road conditions or closures, please visit www.DriveBC.ca.
The other wildfires in the cluster- G70193, G70188 and G70187- are all classified as Being Held.

The Peace River Regional District is aware of wildfires in the vicinity of Highway 52 North (G70187) and is working with the BC Wildfire Service to carefully monitor the situation. At this time, no evacuation alerts or orders have been issued.
Please be advised that Highway 52 North is currently closed in both directions and is piloted single lane alternating traffic. For the most up-to-date information on road closures, visit drivebc.ca.
