Subdivision & Development Servicing Bylaw

The Regional Board has adopted Subdivision and Development Servicing Bylaw No. 2474, 2022. This bylaw sets out requirements for the provision of water, sewer and fire protection for subdivisions and development. No, this bylaw does not apply to your proposal.

Yes, this bylaw does apply and you will need to provide water, sewer services and fire protection services in accordance with the bylaw.

No, this bylaw does not apply to your proposal.

Are there any exceptions?

Yes there are some exceptions:

  • Your property already has a water and/or sewer line running to the property line;
  • The subdivision is for the purpose of dedicating road, park land or land for utilities;
  • Your property is designated agriculture in the Official Community Plan; or
  • You are doing minor construction, addition or alteration to an existing building or structure on the property.

Who pays for the services to be installed?

Costs for installation of any works and services required by the bylaw shall be at the expense of the property owner or applicant.
