Ever wonder where your garbage goes or how it is processed? Handling garbage, or solid waste, is challenging in the North. High trucking costs, lack of markets to sell recycled products and long winters all add to the increasing costs to properly manage solid waste. The Peace River Regional District is holding a Public and Technical Stakeholder Committee meeting. This is an open meeting for anyone interested in learning and offering input to the Solid Waste Committee regarding action items in the Regional Solid Waste Management Plan.
