Official notice: Kiskatinaw River Fire Evacuation Order #6
The Peace River Regional District has issued an Evacuation Order #6 for the Kiskatinaw River Wildfire (G70422) upon recommendation from BC Wildfire Service due to immediate danger to life safety. This Order rescinds part of Evacuation Evacuation Order 4 issued June 6, 2025 At 1900hrs (7:00 p.m.)
The Evacuation Order is in effect for properties in the following area:
- 8 km south of the One Island Lake Rd.
- Easterly for 6.7 km to the BC/Alberta border
- Southerly along the BC/Alberta border for 2.7 km
- Easterly for 5.7 km, following the southern boundary of Beaverlodge Lake to a point of intersection with Hwy 52E
- Southerly along the western side of Hwy 52E for 1.7 km
- 5 km westerly to a point of intersection with the Kiskatinaw River
- Continuing westerly 8.2 km to a point of intersection with One Island Lake Rd
- Southeasterly for 4.7 km
- Northerly for 1.7 km to a point of intersection with the junction of One Island Lake Rd and Noel Rd
- Northerly following the western side of one Island Lake Rd,
- Approximately 4 km to a point of intersection with the Kiskatinaw River and One Island Lake Rd
- Easterly, crossing the Kiskatinaw River, for 11.7 km returning to a point of intersection with Hwy 52E
YOU MUST LEAVE THE AREA IMMEDIATELY!

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO:
- Travel to the City of Dawson Creek by the safest route for your area. Visit Drive BC for road conditions.
- Register for Emergency Support Services (ESS) at the Reception Centre located at the Nawican Friendship Centre – 10200 17 St, Dawson Creek, BC. The Reception Centre will be open June 15, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
- If you need help to meet your basic needs if evacuated, create a profile for Emergency Support Services (ESS). Creating a profile for ESS ahead of time will make it easier to access support. Once your account has been verified with BC Services, you may be eligible for Interac e-Transfer. To register for ERA, follow the steps below:
- Step 1: Visit www.ess.gov.bc.ca
- Step 2: Click ‘Create Profile’
- Step 3: Follow the BC Services Card login and registration instructions
- Step 4: If you’re evacuated, follow all instructions and evacuate. Follow the steps listed in your Evacuation Order
- Shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers.
- Close and lock all windows and doors
- Close gates (latch) but do not lock them.
- Gather your family and, if you have room, take a neighbour or someone needing transportation. Do not use more vehicles than needed.
- Take critical items (identification, credit cards, medicine, cell phone and charger, and keys) only if they are immediately available.
- Take pets in pet kennels or on a leash.
