The flags at the Peace River Regional District office in Dawson Creek will be lowered for 215 hours to honour the 215 Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc First Nation victims.
“We are profoundly saddened at the discovery of the remains of children at the Kamloops Indian Residential School. The mistreatment of Indigenous children is a terrible part of the history of this country and we share in the grief at this horrific discovery. Our thoughts are with our First Nations partners and the Peace River Regional District is lowering its flags in solidarity with them.”
