Evacuation Order #1 Boundary Lake Wildfire


May 5, 2023 2150hrs

The Peace River Regional District has issued an evacuation ORDER for the Boundary Lake wildfire (G80220) for properties in the BOUNDARY/GOODLOW area listed below:

Members of the RCMP and other applicable agencies will be expediting this action.

The Evacuation Order is in effect for the following areas:

  • The community of Goodlow
  • North of Moonlight Creek from the Alberta border
  • Headed northwest to Boundary Creek
  • Continuing northwest along Alces River to a point dues east of 14313 – 211 Road,
  • Continuing east to 14313 -211 Road
  • From 14313 -211 Road headed southeast to a junction between boundary lake and the Alberta border
  1. Evacuate the area immediately!
  2. Due to smoke and fire in the area, it is recommended to evacuate through the following route:
    • IF you live North of the Cecil Lake Road, proceed North along 211 Road, then west along 256 Road, then south along the 221 Road, then west along the Cecil Lake Road
    • IF you live on the Cecil Lake Road, proceed west along the Cecil Lake Road
  3. Proceed the to Emergency Support Services reception centre located at North Peace Arena – 9805 96 Avenue, Fort St. John, BC.
  4. The Reception Centre will be open on Friday, May 5 until 12:00 midnight. IF the reception center is closed when you arrive please call (250) 794-3310.
  5. Please visit prrd.bc.ca and BC Wildfire Services regularly for current information.

If you need transportation assistance from the area, advise the person providing this notice or call 1-800-670-7773.

  • Shut off all gas and electrical appliances, other than refrigerators and freezers.
  • Close all windows and
  • Close gates (latch) but do not
  • Gather your family and, if you have room, take a neighbour or someone needing transportation. Do not use more vehicles then you have
  • Take critical items (medicine, purse, wallet, cell & charger and keys) only if they are immediately Take pets in pet kennels or on leash.
  • Do not use the telephone unless you need emergency

PRRD residents are encouraged to monitor prrd.bc.ca and bcwildfire.ca for further updates regarding active wildfires in the region.  Residents impacted by Evacuation orders or alerts can contact the PRRD at 1-800-670-7773 for planning and assistance with any transportation, mobility, health, or other needs.
