The North Peace Fringe Area Official Community Plan is the primary document the PRRD uses to make decisions for development in the area outside Fort St. John and Taylor, outlined in yellow on the map below.
The PRRD held three rounds of public engagement to help shape the new North Peace Fringe Area Official Community Plan. Please go to the Public Engagement tab to learn more about what we heard from the public and stakeholders.
The PRRD is planning one more round of public engagement for three specific topics relating to the North Peace Fringe Area Official Community Plan:
- Establishing a vision for South Taylor;
- Reducing conflicts between industrial and residential uses south of Fort St. John; and
- Considering more compact development in the Charlie Lake area.

Natural Hazards & Public Safety
Planning staff are also working on measures to guide development near known hazard areas in a way that prioritizes the safety of PRRD residents, property, and the environment.
