Overview
The PRRD, in partnership with the City of Fort St. John, City of Dawson Creek, and Village of Pouce Coupe, is exploring two potential trail connections between communities in the region:
- Fort St. John to Charlie Lake
- Dawson Creek to Pouce Coupe
We’d like your help to figure out where these trails might connect, what they should look like, and the types of activities they should accommodate.
Why are We Undertaking this Study?
In the region, trail connections continue to be identified as a community priority. This Study is a first step in planning trails that could be built in the future.
Trends show that people are using trails more and more – to increase their activity, to spend time outdoors, and to reduce their reliance on automobiles. As a result, more regional trails are being built to connect BC communities. Recent studies show that trails have a many benefits (click here to enlarge).
Study Outcome
The outcome of this Study will be a plan that shows suggested trail routes, design, preliminary costs, and priorities. The PRRD and partners will use this plan to consider trail development in the future.
Through 2018 we worked with the community to consider potential trail routes. Please share your hopes and ideas!
