Reporting to the Protective Services Manager, the Fire Chief (Moberly Lake Volunteer Fire Department) will lead the transition of the Fire Department from being operated and administered by the Moberly Lake Volunteer Fire Department Society to the Peace River Regional District. Working collaboratively with the Society, fire fighters and the staff at the Peace River Regional District, the Fire Chief will conduct assessments to develop action plans to address any gaps in training, recruitment, records, SOG’s, and WorkSafe requirements while building on the exemplary work of the Society over the past 25+ years. The Fire Chief will also be responsible for implementing the new training standards that are anticipated to be released in 2021 by the Office of the Fire Commissioner as well as working with PRRD staff to transition records, accounts and financial processes. The Fire Chief will oversee administration, fire suppression and fire prevention activities, ensuring compliance with local, provincial and federal fire regulations. This is an ideal position for a recently retired Fire Chief who is looking to share their knowledge and experience through a 15 month term position.
