Development Variance Permit

Zoning bylaws impose specific land use regulations on all properties within a defined zone.

Development Variance Permits may be issued by the Regional Board to vary zoning regulations such as building setbacks or maximum building size.

A Development Variance Permit must not vary the use or density of land from that specified in the bylaw or a flood plain specification

When considering a development please check with a land-use planner to confirm whether the proposal meets regulatory requirements, or requires an application.
