Construction Activities in Charlie Lake

UPDATE: August 30, 2023, 16:00

Repairs and construction were initially planned to take place from July 26 to August 9, 2023, but line locating activities pushed these dates back. The intersection of Lakeshore Drive and Lake End Crescent has been closed since August 15th to keep vehicular traffic away from the sewer line locating and tie-in activities. The intersection will be open starting September 1st. However, paving crews are currently unavailable so the intersection will be gravel until we are able to get pavers to Charlie Lake.

Valves in the surrounding area still need to be repaired, and this work will take place between September 9th and September 22nd.

Big League Utilities (BLU) and McElhanney Ltd have been contracted by the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) to design and install a new low-pressure sewer line along Lakeshore Drive. This new sewer line will improve service to the homeowners in this area and improve the operation of the system. In addition to the mainline, the PRRD will here will be locating and repairing valves in the surrounding area of construction.

The work will take place from July 26th to August 8th. There could be some impacts to sewer tanks on private property during the construction while specific activities are happening. Individual properties will be notified directly on the day the service is expected to be impacted. Service impacts are only expected to be a few hours.
