Regional Growth Strategy Survey open for submissions

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is developing the region’s first Regional Growth Strategy (RGS) and needs public feedback. The RGS is a long-range, high-level planning document. It will guide long-term growth in the Peace and help support more coordinated region-wide planning with the PRRD and member municipalities (City of Dawson Creek, City of Fort St. John, District of Taylor, District of Chetwynd, District of Hudson’s Hope, District of Tumbler Ridge, Village of Pouce Coupe).

This will help to better understand and prepare for the potential changes we can expect over the next 20 years. These changes include a growing population, new service demands, the regional economy and a changing climate.

Residents, businesses, industry groups, community organizations, PRRD and member municipalities are working on the project. Provincial agencies such as the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure, the Agricultural Land Commission, and Northern Health have also been invited to participate.

The PRRD is encouraging all residents to share their thoughts on planning and preparing for the future of the region by completing the RGS Survey. The survey is open until January 31, 2024 and should only take five to ten minutes to complete.

For upcoming participation opportunities please subscribe to project updates on the PRRD’s Have Your Say website, or email the Regional District (RGS@prrd.bc.ca) to be added to the project mailing list.
