Charlie Lake Fire Department brings back Halloween drive-thru event with added focus on fire safety

The Charlie Lake Fire Department (CLFD) is inviting residents to check out the Halloween drive-thru event at the Charlie Lake Fire Hall. The drive-thru concept was born in 2020 out of necessity with COVID-19 restrictions. Since then, it has become a local favourite in the community of Charlie Lake and has grown in popularity with residents in Fort St. John.

This year, in addition to the standard spooky fare, the crew at the CLFD will be passing out tips on fire safety.

“The CLFD is very excited to get back out into the community with our annual drive-thru event. Due to COVID-19, we have been restricted in our door-to-door outreach; this event is the perfect opportunity to educate about fire safety and the importance of checking home fire alarms. We have plenty of fire alarm replacements at the ready, and we’re looking forward to another successful family-friendly event this Halloween.”

– Deputy Fire Chief, Jess Horsfield

The event is happening Monday October 31, 2022 from 5pm to 8pm at the Charlie Lake Fire Department (13065 Firehall Road) and is open to all residents and ages. Residents can RSVP to the Facebook event, by visiting the Peace River Regional District’s Facebook page.
