New seniors aging in place program

The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) is launching a new program called Seniors Aging in Place (SAIP) that will soon be available to residents aged 65 or older residing in Electoral Area D and eligible portions of Electoral Area E. Services offered through the SAIP program include fresh meal delivery, housekeeping, and snow removal between the months of November to March. These services will be delivered through the Dawson Creek Society for Community Living (DCSCL).

Eligible residents are encouraged to attend an upcoming information session to learn more about the SAIP program, which will be hosted throughout the region on the following dates:

  • Tate Creek Community Hall (October 17, 2022, 1-3PM)
  • Kelly Lake Community Hall (October 20, 2022, 1-3PM)
  • Upper Cutbank (October 21, 2022, 1-3PM)
  • Rolla Community Hall (October 24, 2022, 1-3PM)
  • McLeod Community Hall (October 26, 2022, 1-3PM)
  • Farmington Community Hall (October 27, 2022, 1-3PM)

“The Peace River Regional District is very pleased to be able to offer this service in collaboration with the Dawson Creek Society for Community Living. It is our hope that the extra support offered through this program will allow our residents to retain their independence and continue to live comfortably in the communities that they have called home for their entire lives” – Director Leonard Hiebert (Electoral Area D) & Director Dan Rose (Electoral Area E)

The SAIP program has come into effect after the Seniors Aging in Place Establishment Bylaw No. 2444 received the assent of the electors in July of 2021. To learn more about this program and service eligibility, visit prrd.bc.ca/saip, email saip@prrd.bc.ca, or call 250-782-2611.
