Big League Utilities (BLU) and McElhanney Ltd. have been contracted by the Peace River Regional District (PRRD) to design and install a new low-pressure sewer line between Lakeshore Drive in the community of Charlie Lake, and the Alaska Highway.
Repairs and construction are planned to take place from August 12, 2024 to September 9, 2024.
A map of potentially affected properties is available.
During this work there may be temporary impacts to properties. Septic tanks on properties close to repair and construction activities may not be able to pump for a few hours while repairs are being conducted.
If impacts are expected, BLU will knock on doors of affected properties the day of construction. BLU will work efficiently and quickly to minimize potential impacts.
It is recommended that homeowners get their septic tanks cleaned prior to construction so more storage capacity is available in individual tanks to mitigate against any potential impacts.
In addition to online notices, the PRRD has delivered notices to potentially affected homeowners.
