The Peace River Regional District (PRRD) seeks public input on how to enhance security and safety at the Kelly Lake Transfer Station (waste disposal site). In response to safety concerns caused by theft, the PRRD has temporarily closed the Kelly Lake Transfer Station.
The PRRD is currently exploring other options for the location and operation of the transfer station. Recognizing community members as the best source of information for making improvements, the Regional District has launched a survey open from May 02 to May 15, 2024.
The survey provides residents with the opportunity to share their ideas on how to make the Kelly Lake location more secure. The PRRD is interested in understanding how often individuals use the site, the type of waste that is disposed and customer satisfaction with the current location. Additionally, the PRRD is seeking suggestions that might improve the security of the Kelly Lake site.
The PRRD uses community feedback to guide decision-making on how to best serve the community. After the survey, staff will review the feedback and present it to the Regional Board on May 30, 2024.
To participate, residents can complete the online survey, or fill out a paper survey at the PRRD office reception in Dawson Creek.
